Nobody's Favorite
2014
In this brief series, I represent species that are often under-appreciated. The true value of a species is often overlooked by quick judgements. Cultural preferences and fads tend to determine a specie's importance to society, rather than their place within a healthy ecosystem. This favoritism is dangerous in keeping a balanced and healthy planet, rich in biodiversity. As the environment struggles, unfavored species may not get the protection they need when compared to the more recognizable and "cute" creatures. But in all honesty, even their championed competitors have had a difficult time receiving the protection they need.
