Natives
2018-Current

The majority of my life has been spent in Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania. This series of watercolors pays homage to native species that I share these spaces and histories with. Some species are common, others are extirpated (locally extinct), but all of them deserve to call this place "home." The natural habitats and ecosystems have changed over the years as these populations have fluctuated because of humans. As I illustrate these creatures, I wonder what the landscape would be like if more of them were welcomed in their home.
