I came across this, and thought it was perfect. I still feel this way, even though I am no longer a TA. There are so many ups and downs to teaching. Some days you just want to give up, but then you have those students that remind you why you wanted to teach in the first place.
Tonight was the opening for Instructions_13, an exhibition curated by Britta Urness and Travis Head, that I was invited to partake in. I was so excited to make work for this show because it gave me something to work towards, while also giving a push along the way. Below you can read the whole idea behind the exhibit itself, and the guidelines given to the artists involved. This was a fun way to work outside of my normal approach. The end result was something that I feel is pretty different than my typical work, but I still enjoyed the process. Sadly, I didn't take a photo of the work before hanging it, but I've included a snap of it borrowed from the (SCENE) Metrospace Facebook page.
The other artists exhibiting include:
Casey Jex Smith
Words and Stuff.
