Yesterday as I was flipping through the latest issue of Shots Magazine, I was delightfully surprised to see that one of my photographs had been included. I was pretty excited to start my day in such a great way! The only downside is that Shots only prints in black and white and the original is in color. Click here to see the photo in color.
Trying to get back into the grind, I spent my afternoon shopping around for some more needed objects and frames for my installation. My evening was spent in the darkroom printing my tintypes. I must say, it felt great to be back in my cave. The darkroom is what initially attracted me to photography, and sometimes I tend to forget that. Those are the times I start to distance myself from the camera. I need to set up a darkroom after I graduate asap to keep a connection to this art form. Here are some snapshots of all of my little tintype babies drying. :)
I've been pretty busy trying to get things prepped for my thesis show. This past week we have had 5 visiting artists/curators so I have had a lot of outside input to help me start honing in on the fine details of my exhibition layout. As of today I have four weeks before I have to install my show. Wish me luck! I sent out my postcards to the printer last night. Here is a little sneak peek.
